“The heavy-lifting part of the transformation work is typically completed within few years, after which much lighter engagement is needed.”
What are MLEs?
MLEs stands for “Mid-Sized and Large Enterprises”; It’s any company that is not a small enterprise. There is not a single globally defined and agreed-upon range of sizes for MLEs; although wizadvice will be happy to work with Small(er) Enterprises, it will mostly focus on MLEs that operate with more than 50 employees.
Why MLEs, and probably not Smaller Enterprises?
Small Enterprises are by nature entrepreneurial with very lean organizations; their managers are often their own advisors and wear multiple-hats (i.e., are multi-functional). Moreover, they are often supported and advised by their initial seed investors, incubators and facilitators, and therefore do not typically retain additional external consultants and advisors.
What do MLEs need?
MLEs could face different types of business and performance challenges, be them related to securing their needed funding, growing their business (organically or inorganically), entering new markets, restructuring their business and operating models, having to divert from their core competence, or being pressured to adopt cost-containment measures, … to name a few. Addressing these challenges requires good planning and effective execution; otherwise the company could suffer, with irreversible consequences.
Many MLEs are not large enough to be able to afford retaining best-in-class consulting firms for long periods of time, and some are even not willing to employ full-time staff (in-house advisors) that are solely dedicated to lead such transformational projects.
Even in the case of MLEs that have retained consultants and advisors, the heavy-lifting part of the transformation work is typically completed within few years, after which much lighter engagement is needed; this steady-state, long term and cost-effective support, at non-intensive engagement frequencies, is what MLEs need so that their managers can focus on their core operational duties.
To date, solutions for such a need are not readily available and that’s why wizadvice is committed to offer such solutions.
